Goodness in a Cup!

Winter afternoons are meant to have a nice cup of hot beverage and what better than Herbed Tea! Ditch your regular tea and make your cup of goodness and everything healthy with just 4 kitchen ingredients:

  1. Cloves- IMG_2523.jpg Clove adds a charming flavour to your tea and can be used to treat cough and enhance digestion. They were also used by the Chinese to shove off bad breath. The vapours of clove when inhaled , tend to open up respiratory tracts and clears all sorts of congestion.
  2. Cardamom- IMG_2518There are two types of cardamom: black and green, black cardamoms help in curing colds, coughs and certain respiratory problems. They give a sweet aroma to the drink and aids in curing stomach problems such as indigestion, gas and constipation. Cardamom water boosts metabolism and helps the body burn fat more efficiently. So make sure when you have your chai you add some cardamom to it!
  3. Cinnamon Trunk- IMG_2516.jpgCinnamon is rich in anti-oxidants and lowers blood sugar levels. It cuts down the risk of any heart related diseases. It prevents tooth decay and reduces bad breath. Cinnamon increases the body temperature during winters and aids in shedding accumulated belly fat.
  4. Lemon grass-fullsizeoutput_1122.jpegΒ If you ask me to describe lemon grass in one word, I’ll say- “Magical”. This particular herb is full of medicinal values. It is highly recommended for girls to drink atleast a glass of lemon grass everyday by adding it to your regular green tea or just boiling some of it in water as it helps to bring your menstrual cycle on track and reduces cramps during periods. Apart from relieving menstrual pain, it is rich in anti-oxidants, gives you a glowing skin, heals cold and flu, increases metabolism and helps in loosing weight.

All you gotta do to make your cup of Herbed Tea is- Mix the above ingredients in a pot of boiling water and cover it with a lid. Leave it for 5 minutes and your Tea is ready to serve!

PS- You can honey for taste!
